Global Mining Summit (GMS) is the signature initiative being organized concurrently with the International Mining Machinery Exhibition. Over the years Global Mining Summit has evolved into an important forum for the mining fraternity. As the flagship initiative of the CII National Committee on Mining it draws key policy makers, mining experts, consultants and leading industry practitioners to deliberate on critical issues that impacts the industry. This cross-pollination of ideas lead to the development of a shared agenda for the industry to adopt which is aligned to the changing global demands.

The mining industry is core to India’s growth ambition of USD 5 Trillion. With the government recently coming out with some critical reforms in the Mining and Coal sector under the Atmanirbhar Bharat package, Mining is seen as one sector which has the potential for triggering the growth, revenue and employment.

Against this backdrop, CII is organising the Global Mining Summit (GMS) -a biennial flagship initiative of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised concurrently with the International Mining Machinery Exhibition (IMME). The 16th edition of IMME & GMS is scheduled from 16-19 November 2022 at Eco Park, Rajarhat, Kolkata, India.

The theme for this year’s Global Mining Summit 2022 is "Role of Minerals in Shaping a Sustainable Future". The Summit 2022 aims to highlight the growth and emerging trends in the Indian mining sector. It will focus on the high-priority aspects of the mining business including exploration, ease of doing business, new technology, policy frameworks for sustainable mining, emerging opportunities in critical mineral & rare earth space and urban mining. Major players from the mining, coal, iron ore and other mineral sectors globally, and within India, will use this forum for the exchange of views & ideas and to explore business partnerships.

The Global Mining Summit is followed by the International Mining & Machinery Exhibition 2022 scheduled from 16 – 19 November 2022 at ECO Park, Rajarhat Newtown, Kolkata. The announcing flyer is attached for your perusal. The Conference and Exhibition timings would be shared shortly.
